Ft. McMurray Client Protocols

Up-Dated June 27, 2008 - Ft. McMurray Clients  participated in a process to enhance the retention, recruitment and relocation of maintenance workers employed under the General Presidents' Maintenance Agreement and the National Maintenance Agreement in the Ft. McMurray Area.  The Clients have established various Protocols to this effect.  The General Presidents' Maintenance Committee thanks all Ft. McMurray clients for their involvement in and positive response to the issues brought forward regarding the supply and retention of maintenance workers to their maintenance sites.

Syncrude and Suncor have each initiated 2 protocols effective June 1, 2008. The Long Lake Project (Opti Nexen) has determined to implement 2 protocols effective July 1, 2008.   These Protocols are established at the sole discretion of the firm involved and are not collective agreement items.  They will be administered by the maintenance employers at each site in conjunction with the owner.  They can be altered, amended and or removed at the individual owner's discretion.  Client contract management employees are working with maintenance employers to implement the Protocols at both sites.
