The new Alberta GPMA's are posted on the Collective Agreements Page and are available for downloading. The Agreements cover listed projects in Ft. McMurray, Edmonton area and the Calgary area. The Agrements are effective January 1, 2012 until December 31, 2015. Employers are authorized to implement the new terms and conditions of the agreements effective January 1, 2012.
Posted October 5, 2011 - ACTIMS has brought in up to 20 Boilermaker TIG welders and mechanics from Ireland and the US. These workers have been dispatched to various employers working on the Syncrude shutdown which is underway at present in Ft. McMurray.

Posted July 19, 2011, the GPMC, Jacobs and the Saskatchewan Provincial Building and Construction Trades Council have signed an innovative Memorandum of Understanding with the File Hills Qu'Appell Tribal Council which will increase the number of Aboriginal people selecting the skillied trades and mainteance as a carreer choice. This is a good move for the maintenance industry in Saskatchewan as the construction and maintenance industry is booming and First Nations and Metis communities are the fastest growing population in the Province. The parties will be releasing a joint press release shortly which will make public the objects and intents of the MOU. Lyle Daniels, the Building Trades Council's Labour Development Strategist, was instrumental in the development of this formative Understanding.
