Syncrude : Syncrude Canada Ltd in the Ft. McMurray, Alberta area is the largest user of contract maintenance services in Canada at present.

Shell Canada : The first General Presidents' Maintenance Agreement was established in 1952 at what is now the Shell refinery in Sarnia, Ontario.

Suncor : Both Suncor's refinery in Sarnia and its oil sands extraction plant in Ft. McMurray have GPA maintenance work forces.

 U. S. Steel Stelco : An NMA was established at Stelco's two steel making facilities, Hilton Works and Lake Erie Steel Company in 1994.

New Brunswick Power : In 1984, in conjunction with the Council, established a NMA to cover all its generating stations' contracted maintenance work. Since that time, millions of maintenance work hours have been conducted under the agreement.

Petro-Canada : Petro-Canada's two Ontario refineries are maintained by GPA work forces and its Edmonton complex is maintained by craft workers employed under the Alberta NMA.

UPM-Kymmene Miramichi Inc : is a major producer of paper products in New Brunswick. A NMA Service Agreement was recently established to at the site.

 

Exxon Mobil:is the operator of the Sable Offshore oil and gas development off the coast of Nova Scotia. All platforms in the Sable development have been hooked up, started up, commissioned and maintained by Halifax local union members working under the Offshore GPA.

 

Imperial Oil : Imperial uses contract maintenance workers under the GPA at its Nanticoke, Ontario refinery and NMA contract workers at its Strathcona refinery in Edmonton.

 

Maintenance Employers

The following is just a handful of the maintenance employers we work with in the development of the contract maintenance business.

 

Jacobs Industrial Services Ltd. : Jacobs Industrial Services Ltd. is the largest industrial maintenance contractor in Canada and has been performing maintenance work under maintenance agreements since 1952.

 

Alstom Power Canada : Alstom Power Canada is a major employer of maintenance trades in the boiler and electricity generation industry.

 

Edmonton Exchanger : Edmonton Exchanger is a major employer of maintenance trades in the refinery shutdown and maintenance business in Alberta.

 

E.S. Fox Ltd : E.S. Fox Ltd. working under the GPA, is the main mechanical maintenance contractor at the Dofasco steel plant in Hamilton, Ontario.

 

Babcock & Wilcox : Babcock & Wilcox is a significant maintenance employer in the boiler and electricity generation, including nuclear, industry.

 

Lockerbie & Hole : Lockerbie and Hole is a major, multi-trade employer working under the NMA at many industrial locations in Alberta.

 

Melloy : Melloy and Associates is major vessel fabricator and refinery shutdown contractor working under the NMA in Alberta.

 

Comstock Canada : Comstock Canada is a full service, multi-trade employer involved in steel industry maintenance projects in Ontario, and the power generation and refining industry in New Brunswick.

 

Amec Black and McDonald : Amec Black and McDonald has been involved in the Nova Scotia offshore industry since its beginnings in 1991 and is the major offshore contractor in the Nova Scotia offshore and Sable project.

 

Derksen Mechanical Services : DMS is a full service maintenance contractor operating in Manitoba.

 

Reppsco Services Ltd : Reppsco is a full service mechanical maintenance and specialty contractor active in Alberta.

 

Aker Kvaerner Canada : Aker Kvaerner is a major, international manufacturing, engineering and construction firm. In Canada it provides contract maintenance services to Imperial Oil's Nanticoke, Ontario refinery and engineering and construction services to the power and steel industry.
 

Transfield Asset Management Services Integrated Ltd: TAMSIL is a full service maintenance and asset management company which has been awarded contracts by Suncor Inc, covering its Ft. McMurray, Alberta oil sands operation including the Firebag in-situ oil sands facility, and Sarnia, Ontario, Refinery.
